Here is an easy pillow project that I completed. I bought 2 down filled bolster pillow inserts at Angels Antiques in January. They had been sitting in the spare room without covers. I knew I wanted new pillows for our bed because the current pillow had stripes and I bought that pillow before I knew I was going to end up using a stripe for the drapes. TOO much stripe!
I found some fabric that had the blues and greens that I was looking for at Hobby Lobby on sale. So I picked it up and set out on the quest to re-cover the bolsters. Now, the way I covered them is VERY simple. I didn't do anything elaborate frankly because I don't know how to :)
First, cut your fabric to the dimensions of your pillow. One rectangular piece. Then pin up the sleeve you will feed your pull "string" through. Yes I definitely used hot pink raffia ribbon! It was the only "stringish" thing I could find around the house. It doesn't matter what you use because you won't see it anyway.
After you pin your raffia/string into a little sleeve, sew up the sleeve and repeat the string/sleeve on the other end of the fabric. Now, flip your fabric inside out and sew the two ends together (ends without the draw string)
Turn the pillow cover right side out and slip your pillow into it.
Cinch your string or hot pink raffia ribbon really tight on both ends, tying it in a knot at the base and tucking the excess ribbon into the pillow. You will not see the ribbon after you tuck.
Set the pillows on your bed and enjoy. Seriously, this took me no time at all and I am not an expert seamstress. As long has you have bolster inserts you are in business.
Easy Peasy!!!!

I can't get over you just figuring out all of this! And you make these beautiful things come from that old sewing machine! I love the fabric pattern and the way it looks in your room.
Thanks, I am going to give this a try right now,
